Recent innovations to make Germany greener?
I need to know about any innovations since 2000 to make Germany more environmentally friendly and I haven't had much luck on the Internet. I was wondering if anyone could help me out? The more specific, the better. Thanks very much!

- They have made innovations on solar panels because now they have solar tracking to track the sun to make the most proficient energy so now they are more enviromentally efficient
- In many areas Germany is a lot more environmentally advanced than the U.S. In many parts of Germany glass, plastic containers, paper/cardboard have to be collected and have been recycled for at least 10-15 years. For gas you have to pay an additional tax to protect the environment. In all grocery stores/supermarkets you have to pay for your plastic bag. Only in department stores or boutiques you get them for free. Therefore, many Germans only use cotton bags or just their backpacks to carry their groceries. There are very strict laws to reduce CO2 and the German government signed the Kyoto-Protocol on CO2-reduction years ago. The U.S, still haven't signed the Kyoto-Protocol! Besides that Germany is most likely to have established the first large and influential "Green Party". Our former Secretary of State, Joschka Fischer, was a member of the now more than 20 year old "Green Party".
