Painting an old wooden table with a modern design?

I want to pain an old table of mine with a modern design- Not just re-paint it a new color. I want lots of colors and designs (like a tree or butterfly, I suppose). I know I need to sand the table and prime the table, but my issue is what PAINT would be best for this? (If you could give me a specific brand, that would be very helpful, too) If anyone has any advice, please offer it : ) Thanks!!

  1. Technically you could use what ever paint you want. But since you are looking for a lot of color and design, a very good paint to try is Delta Ceramcoat. You can usually find it in your local craft store, it comes in a whole bunch of different colors, it paints on smooth, and dries to a nice matte finish. Actually the most important part of painting is sealing it with varnish. (I learned that the hard way lol). You have so many options like matte or glossy, a thin layer or large layer. But this will help protect your design from spills and cleaning, and will have a long life in your home. I mention Delta because I have had great results with it. Here is the link to their site, so even if you choose another brand, you can get some ideas for your project :) (It may take a bit of time to load) http://deltacreative.com/pcid/16/Default.aspx
