Would you buy a house with really small bathrooms? Potential to enlarge in the future?

I know its really silly to ask this but there is a house that is almost perfect.. though the bathrooms are tiny. There is potential to in the future, expand the full bath into part of the 1st living room but I am not sure how much $$ that takes- the tub is located along the wall we'd expand from. The master bath is only a 1/2 bath and there's not much room to expand that. The kitchen isn't perfect but can easily be expanded when we redo the cabinets in the future. Houses around here, in our price range tend to be older and have small bathrooms. This house is very large in general, but the bathrooms are tiny. Would you consider it- knowing many other houses have the same problem? We've looked @ 20 or so homes.. so we've seen a lot!

  1. We already have. If it's the right house, it's a small renovation.
  2. i woudlnt in my city, but it appears that u have not much choice. buy it if that is your only concern.
  3. small bathrooms does not matter. If you relocate some of the things you will get more spacfe. Cleaning becomes much easier.
  4. If that is common in your area, then I would make that sacrifice. Expanding a bathroom can get expensive if you have to move plumbing but you can save costs by doing your own demo and installing the flooring and sink yourself. If you can't expand the master bath, you could try using space-saver sinks and vanities to increase the floor space and create the illusion of a larger bathroom. If you do get the opportunity to expand even one bathroom and you are the only home in the area with a larger bath, your home make sell quicker and for a higher price than others around you later on.
  5. considering the house is big & perfect except for bath I suggest to go for it unless u prefer to enjoy ur bath from day one
