Cost of renovating a too small bathroom?

We're house hunting and found the perfect house, but the master bathroom is very small. It has a small stand-in shower and 1 small sink. We're wondering if it's worth getting and renovating, so how much would it cost to knock down part of the wall, convert the stand-in shower to more of a tub/shower size (without moving the plumbing etc.), maybe adding 1 more sink, and building a wall around the new facility?

1. A total gut and renovation of a bathroom could cost near $10,000. A major renovation will probably cost half of that.
2. depends on how much space you want this bathroom to be, and how much you can sacrifice from the room you are taking it if you are going to go to this much trouble, do the job right and have the bathroom you want but it is going to cost and I doubt much under $5000
