- All of the locations for everything should be on the plan. As for specific brands, you will break the specifications into sections for each trade. It would read something like this: Refrigerator will be General Electric model #_________, finish stainless steel, installed on a separate 20A circuit, with water hookup to be supplied by plumbing contractor. Electrical contractor to supply 2 (two) 20A GFCI protected small appliances circuits, each to contain a minimum of 3 duplex receptacles. Be as specific as you can with the model numbers, etc. This way there can be no question when the job is done. Remember, even if the specs don't agree with the plan, the specs ALWAYS supercede the plan. If you change anything after the plan/specs are approved and contracts are signed, you or the customer will be backcharged for the change order. Hope this helps.
- if in ireland ,consult the latest edition of the ETCI regs. to see where you can and cant put outlets, the acceptable heights, zone's etc. so you dont ask for an outlet somewhere it is not allowed.other countries will have an equivelent book of regs. its almost always better to install a double socket instead of a single, even if not required at the moment. look for loads of double switched sockets over the counter top. also if your in stalling a gas hob, have a socket installed to facilitate the gas spark ignitor. if your thinking of installing an electric INDUCTION hob,you will probably need a seperate cooker supply from the fuse board for this hob and one for the oven.do not allow cables to be joined in the wall if outlets are being moved.insist they are rewired at least from the ceiling down to the new position.if in a bungalow,do not install ceiling down lighters as all the heat goes up thro them to the attic. make sure counter lighting is switched from the main swithing points on the wall and, seperate switches so you dont have to leave them all on together,if yu want to leave one on at night.try have sockets for appliances in a position where you can unplug the appliance before pulling it out for service .also yu must consider IT/COMMS connection points these days for tv,broad band, sound,so plenty of cat5 cable points and sattelite cable.ok hope this helps. and oh yea, tell the builder to stay the hell away from the wiring! good luck x
