1. The cylindrical strength of bamboo. The branching structure of trees & roots. Crystal formation used for buildings. Spider web strength used in filaments.
2. The Fibonacci Sequence and the Golden Mean are found in the chambers of the nautilus shell, the seeds of a sunflower, the parentage of bees, and many other places. Both of these give a system of proportions that was considered perfect by the Greeks and was used in many architecture and design applications. They still turn up over and over today.
