AMCap driver and Micro Innovations webcam problems?

I have a Micro Innovations IC445C webcam that was given to me and the person didn't have the software disk, so I wen to there web site and found the drivers I needed for the webcam and downloaded and installed it. Now when I got to use the webcam it says "Sorry, you have no video capture hardware" I've read the instructions and followed them to the T and even uninstalled and reinstalled the driver 4 times. Can someone please tell me what I am doing wrong or if they have a solution

1. Driver appears not installing properly. For problematic driver installation in XP, try running msconfig first. Choose Diagnostic Startup mode, apply, ok. PC will restart. Install the webcam driver. If installation was successful, run msconfig again to return to Normal startup mode. Worked for me many times. Hope it works for you too.
