Stare long enough at a modern design and you will soon see how old fashioned it appears. What does this mean?
“Everything is different but nothing has changed. Stare long enough at a modern design and you will soon see how old fashioned it appears" Jonar Nader 2002. What is he trying to say?

- everything new is old again
- Isn't this the old biblical saying that there is nothing new under the sun? That histroy repeats itself? I think this is what old Jonar Nader means don't you?
- There is a diference between design and fasion. However, this is often confused by the media and art schools. Design should firstly be about function - how to acheive a given outcome in the best way, this can and should include asthetics, but not fashion. If you are trying to make a wheel there are only a few practical designs possible, whatever colour hub caps you use. Arts & craft movement "Have nothing in your house that is not useful or you believe to be beutiful".
- He's just pointing out that, throughout history, "design" is repeated over and over once it has become old enough to be forgotten. So that, it seems new again once someone digs it up from the past and adds their modern flare to it, yet it is still faithful to it's old origin.
