does anyone know of somehow we can make a outdoor kitchen on our deck?

We got new counter tops for our kitchen and the ones they took out are brand new we wanted to make counter tops and sink and stuff out on the deck. Does anyone know of a way of doing this?

  1. What kind of tops are they? If they're laminate, you can't use them outside. Rain and humidity would cause them to crumble. If they're granite of solid surface, you could build a work station out of composite, like Trex, and install the counter top on that. Hope this helps.
  2. It is a lot of work and yes it can be done. BUT if you do'nt know what you are doing you are better to hire someone that does.
  3. Go to a bar-b-que retailer. I know, it sounds silly, but states that tend to have bar-b-que or outdoor cooking frequently will have stores that have high-end units that are set-up for this kind of thing. Some will run over $10k dollars. It will give some idea as to different layouts and materials that are used. You will probably need an estimate from a plumber and electrician/gas company so you know what you are looking at to run a water line and/or gas electric line outside unless you or your significant other knows how to do this thing or the exterior of your home has the connections already. Make a couple of calls and a couple of visits. It will give some ideas and you can pick the sales people's brains for more resources and ideas. You may find something already plumbed, wired, etc. that you can add on to with your materials. Good luck, I have wanted to do a project like yours for years at my home.
