- I'm not sure. It's hard to see. But I personally like the look of the ceramic tile. I just got done doing a backsplash in my kitchen and it looks really nice.
- The tile would have to be of high quality and would have to match your kitchen so as NOT to draw too much attention. Other than that.. it might be worth trying by buying a single piece and determining if it looks good in your kitchen. It does have its advantages: - you can do it your self - it will be less expensive (including installation costs, since some vinyl tiles are quite pricey) - easy cleaning (tile grout will be hard to clean once some grease gets there) - easy removal/change
- I have done this in the past and it looks GREAT....It's an inexpensive way to achieve that look of tile without a huge expense and very easy to do
- I like it. However, my wife was looking over my shoulder and said it's tacky. So....no decision here.
- Cheap looking. This is a fairly simple economic kitchen that would be better served by wallpaper or a good paint color.
- I've seen it done twice and it looked cheap and tacky both times. One of the homeowners had a big problem with the tiles not sticking to the sheetrock very well. Both jobs looked worse than a decent paint job. Both homeowners got the idea from DIY type websites. Tile makes the best and longest lasting splashes.
