Is there a product only manufactured in japan and nowhere else in the world?

I some ideas, but they are mostly products Japan has 100% market share in (not necessarily only produced in japan). I was hoping for something that could only be produced there. And what major innovations has Japan come up with (and I mean major and ground breaking, not just small ones)?

  1. I heard all metal zips are produced by one company in japan because it holds a patent or something. Soz, I know its a stupid answer and I'm not sure its right.
  2. Certain regions of Japan are famous for producing different textiles, furniture, soft goods, etc that you would find only in Japan. Many countries also have the same thing. For example, you could only get a Cuban cigar (with the authentic Cuban tobacco) from Cuba. The best way to figure out what those things are is to look up individual areas in an encyclopedia. Many times a reference page on a city will also list the things that the city is famous for producing. As far as "recent" innovations, the first thing that comes to mind is the Wii. It is ground breaking and major. Sony also produced the first Walkman several decades ago.
  3. Everything made in Japan is superior to the same products made overseas, at least in Japanese eyes. I think it's funny how in Japan you pay less for an imported CD with less tracks than the Japanese made version of the same CD. There's Japanese rice too. The same type of rice is made in California, but no Japanese will buy it unless they're in California and have no other choice. You could sell it for half the price in Japan than regular Japanese rice and it still won't sell. And talking about CD's... They were a Japanese invention. Zippers aren't all made in Japan!
  4. didn't they have a robot that can ride a unicycle? they got robots doing everything.
