how to explain his interior designs are tacky?

my bf is helping his mom's struggling restaurant by overseeing renovations. except everything is horribly mismatched (different styles, time periods, and colors) and TACKY. if it's not plastic, it's wrapped in uneven sheets of metal, and sloppily painted. they just added a giant hanging "chandelier" that's shaped like a UFO, complete with sterotypical green/red dragons and lights on the sides. it's ugly as sin. how can i explain to my bf that it's tacky, or even what tacky is, and tell him it makes the restaurant look cheap, not classy, and that it won't appeal to the rich people he wants to reach out to? he won't listen to me, even tho i'm really into style and fashion! help please!!!! true, but i care too much b/c he's my bf of 4 yrs and we plan to get married someday, and his mom is in a lot of debt, so this is pretty much her last chance

  1. you do understand that if you choose and it goes wrong you get the blame and if you say something after the event you still get the blame best thing to do shut up let them get on with it
  2. He will prob hate you in the end no matter wut if you get involved i suggest you avoid it
  3. It might be worth it to get the opinion of a professional. I would make an appointment for a consultation with an interior designer. Tell him it's only to get a little help, so that things will blend better. Let the designer be the guy to break the bad news about the tackiness.
  4. Unless his mother is a complete doofus she is the one who has the final say so. If she is agreeing to what sounds like a design nightmare, she is the one who has to live with it. If your boyfriend is not soliciting your input, there is nothing you can do. Stay out of it. You can't win here.
