What job is it when you design / program lights for concerts?

I'm really interested in going into that field, I kinda do it at my school already but not near what bands like trans-siberian orchestra do. Like... next song, lights change. Things like that? What is the field called, what credentials are needed to get into it?

1. Lighting and sound usually go hand in hand as lights are normally choreographed to music. I am not sure but it may be a tafe course. It is good money if you can get the gigs, but that comes with time and carving a name for yourself. Be advised the type of jobs are not regular income jobs, ie you would have to create you own superannuation, and when not working your on the dole. That is if your freelance. I can give you the website of a friend who is free lance and done a lot of big names in Aus.
