- Don't get a TV stand from Pottery Barn. Their stuff is not optimized for electronics. Did you notice there are no electronics in the TV stand in the photo? Here are some companies which make quality A/V furniture: BDI http://www.bdiusa.com/ Bell'O http://www.bello.com/ Salamander http://www.salamanderdesigns.com/products/av.jsp Sanus http://www.sanus.com/us/en/
- It all depends upon your budget. And how far you want to go with it. I think however that you are designing the cart before the horse... I say this because you have to ask yourself a few questions. Do you own your own house or an apartment? What are your limits? (both financially and sound wise Specifically possible neighbors complaints?) I suggest a basement room that is well insulated and or sound-proofed. Then consider your budget and your components next; (Not the furniture first). Go to a high end sound studio set up in your local stereo or home theater section of a store or one that specializes in home theater. They should be able to answer your questions and better help to educate you on questions and answers that you didn't even know to ask! Go to more than one place...Check out: http://www.crutchfield.com and http://www.newegg.com . Don't forget to hit your back button to get back to this page again and maybe print it out. Hope This Helps!
- For best Entertainment you will need blu ray! but for sound, get a sound system that has great bass and 5.1 to 7.1 Surround sound, sony has the best in my opinion. For a tv get a Vizio or other name brands, but Vizio is lower priced but Professional , and you will need cables, like HDMI, optical audio cables, and ties to hold the wires together. If you have a best buy near you go there and talk to them they really help you under stand every thing. BTW nice tv stand.
- Hi Hon. There are way more issues here for a dedicated HT room. You might want to spend time at AVS or HomeTheaterFourm to read up on what people have done. For example: those chairs are bad for a theater. The backs stick up past your head and will block side and rear sounds. This is why movie theaters have chair-backs that come up to shoulder-blade height.
