i need help deciding on a laptop!

i'm a student, final year in high school, but planning to use this laptop in post-secondary. i'd mainly use this for school (word, powerpoint etc) design (planning to go into this in uni) business (i do a lot of buying and selling online) and just general web surfing and entertainment :) i want something light and portable-ish, but sturdy. long battery life something good-looking would be a plus :) right now i'm thinking dell xps m1330 hp pavilion tx2500z or a sony vaio or macbook i'm still looking, but any suggestions would be nice!

1. Well I'm getting a new Dell Studio laptop. I was thinking between an mac or a pc but once I saw the new studio I fell in love. But if I could suggest a laptop it would be a studio because its light and frankly awsome! I hope that helped!
2. Whatever you do make sure you get a Linux based OS on it for security and speed. They have the same programs as windows but it is fast and can not get viruses or spyware. You can get it here....http://www.ubuntu.com/....any questions ask me....Baseballplyer40@yahoo.com
