Sisters getting pictures taken...what to wear?
Hello! I am 21 and my sister is 16 and for a christmas gift to my parents we are getting our pictures taken. The last time we had our pictures taken together, in a studio setting, I was 15. I think we are getting them done at our local Portrait Innovations. What is your advice for us to wear? BTW I am a brunette with blonde highlights and she is a redhead...so we need something that is going to compliment both of our hair and skin colors. Any Advice??

- Typically a portrait studio recommends that you bring a variety of outfit changes and decide with your photographer on the day of your shoot. From my experience, black and white is always classic. White shirt with black pants always works. You really can't screw that one up. Then maybe you can do something that is special to YOU, as sisters. Did you have an ongoing conflict growing up? Try and capture that in an image. I always tried to capture personality and individuality in my images. Oh. And bring shoes. Full length shots look silly when you're pairing a nice floral, spring dress with tennis shoes.
- From the sound of your hair colors, I think earth tones would look best on you both. Try to bring several choices of outfits, and for each set, try to keep it in the same "family", i.e. don't make it identical, but make it shades of beige/brown, or shades of rust/sienna, etc. Make sure your colors are somewhat similar without clashing. 3/4 or long sleeve looks best, stay clear of sleeveless and don't wear stripes, they can come out looking awful in photos. Bring some props, for example if you both play an instrument, bring those. Or if you both have a passion for playing Monopoly, bring that along.
