biomedicine innovations...i don't have an idea...do you?
i'm supposed to writing this extensive research paper but i have no idea what to write it on. i'm supposed to take a current article and then make up an innovations that either is a completely new idea or recreates soemthing more effectively than what is already out there. for example, once i wrote it on how you could use cone snail venom to cure pain and last year i wrote about desalination. any ideas?!?

- Here's something I've always found interesting: the use of prosthesis and lines coated with antibiotics that are indwelling and have the ability to fight off certain human pathogens. One of the problems we have with lots of different things we have to implant into people is that they may be sterile materials, however, they provide a nidus for bacteria to grow. As such, this concept of developing new agents with such an antibacterial coating on them is most interesting to me. A lot of work has been done on it already, but it might be worthwhile to see if any additional advancements are ahead of us. Good luck.
- What about an intelligent insulin pump that you can implant in the body? One of the main problems diabetics (who use insuline) have, is that they have to use injections of one type of insuline to mimic the normal body production of insulin, and then inject another type of rapid-acting insuline to control glucose levels after each meal. It would be great to have an implantable device that can detect the glucose level, and then release the necesary dose to lower it, if the implant is subcutaneous, then it may be re-charged with just one injection a month, or so. There's something like it, but doesn´t work very well.
