Why do guys hold their penis in front of the mirror in college bathrooms?

I wasn't paying attention and I accidentally walked into the men's bathroom in my college. I was shocked to see a guy holding his erect penis while looking at himself in front of a mirror in the bathroom. I laughed a little and ran out. I've never seen girls do that in the bathroom. Why do guys do that in their bathrooms?
