creative unique gift (Toronto, CA)?

my boyfriend is really creative and sweet and i'm not. lol. last xmas he gave me two gift certificates..one for MAC and one for a movie store (two of my obbessions) plus a jewellery box that had a piece of paper in it that said "maybe next year!" (as a joke of course) and a banana sandwich that he made (if youre familiar with dane cook you'll get it..) hes told me how much he loves unique gifts and how he appreciates the gesture like if u went really far for it or it was hard to get ahold of he'd appreciate it more. he also likes meaningful gifts like he was telling me how his friend's gf gave his friend a box full of 365 notes of 365 things theyve done together. i wanted to name a star after him but i found out that was all fake soooo i need something unique/creative to give him. im thinking about buying him a gold ring (he pawned the only one he had because it was from an ex-gf and i know he's wanted one). and maybe something engraved like a keychain or something? im also looking into picture gifts. but i need a really great unique gift idea...i am freaking out! his birthday is in a few weeks and i still have nothing. something i could make/do for him would be nice. but i would really like to be able to go get something rare or unique that he'd like. its not really about what it is exactly, but the fact that i tried really hard to get it. he's turning 23. i dont think his interests are particularly pertinent cuz its mostly about the gesture not really the item. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, i really need an idea soon because i'm freaking out! thanks!

1. I like the ring - and the engraving idea.
