how to design my home?

know how, but the problem is, i'm thinking af 2 very different idea.. one is very modern summerwhile the other one is very modern warm and cozy, not summer at all and now i can't decide and i'm suck between two things, the modern summer idea is very light i mean white walls, tons of window and skylights, less furnitures.. tons of lights... while the cozy idea, i'm planning to use dark warm colours and really gorgeous lightings http://www.ridgelystudioworks.com/ go to editions then lightings... i mean it's just drop dead... oh please please help me,, i live in canada by the way, mainly the reason why i love the summer theme so i can be like in a beach all year around..

  1. I think the beach look can work both ways. When you want to warm it up, just use accessories, dark pillows, throws, lampshades, drapes ...it can be a little expensive, but you can alternate. I have a very pale blue (almost white) on my walls, and white furniture. For winter I incorporated a lot of chocolate browns, and some tans and it's felt cozy...
  2. I personally like the summer theme better. I am all for bright, cheery spaces, fresh flowers and plants, light walls, etc. Perhaps you could decorate mostly modern summery but have a "cozy" room, like an extra room you could make a library or reading room or maybe a basement that would work?
  3. Please give yourself more time to decide. Flesh out your ideas, visit designer showhouses, open houses and try to get a feel for what works for you. Put together images from everywhere, and inspiration pieces such as shells, or fur throws. You have two design concepts: modern summer, and warm and dark, Try creating a third design based on a spring or fall feel Group your samples into seperate rooms and live with them awhile, the decision should make itself.
  4. I like Summer theme. lighter color makes a place look bigger while a darker color can have the opposite effect. Cleanliness really is the simplest and most important factor in creating an impressive home and summer theme can have all these things You can find some good ideas on my source site.
