- i love redesigning so much fun here is a site where i got some of my ideas from http://web.hgtv.com/hgtv/web/portfolioSearchResults?searchType=Portfolio&Room=DP+BEDROOMS&Style=Contemporary&Designer=&Find=Find on the right side of the page you can pic the room and style you are wanting cheers
- I hope you have a large bedroom, otherwise having a complete wall painted black will really be rather dark. (I like dark, but in a smallish room, it can make the room seem depressing which is why you rarely see it except in very large rooms.) Personally, I would go with grey, black, and red. 3 white walls and a ceiling will seem pretty stark against a black feature wall, but grey will tone down that sharp contrast in color. Grey also gives you a good base to complete the look of your room by actually picking 3 greys to use. If you choose a medium grey for the wall color, then you can use a lighter grey on the ceiling, and a darker grey on your trim. 3 shades of white really doesn't add that much punch to a room, LOL... Keep your red elements at a minimum. On this background, the red will just jump out at you, so it really won't take a lot to make a big statement about your room. You're in luck here though. If you decide to go with either white or grey, there are a lot of options to choose from for bedding, curtains, etc. that are already geared toward the black, grey/white and red motif. Also, modern furniture styles look great with the scheme, and you can do a lot of creative things with your accessories. The only thing that will really ruin the effect is a lot of bare wood or natural elements like grasses or bamboo. You can have one or two of these kinds of things, but too much will destroy the effect you seem to be going after. Anyway, good luck and have fun with it. -SD-
- oh painting the wall black is really different but if its what you really want then go for it and im not a tomboy but not a girly girl either and I dont hate or love pink and i like black and white so I understand what youre doing. I think honestly the modern contemporary look is the greatest look to be granted to us here on earth but anyway I think that turquoise is a really awesome color that can go with many other colors. I also think modern scandinavian furniture is amazing and you should check it out on google. have fun and teach your mom some designing tips! hahaha
