  1. every state has a different code Just call your town's building code enforcement officer and ask. New york the answer is no
  2. I doubt it. Most of the time when you find a 1/2 bath it is because it is a house with all bedrooms and full baths upstairs. Or the master bedroom/master bath downstairs and the kids rooms/bathroom upstairs. I've never known a location that required X-number of bathrooms to bedrooms. Too many houses built with only 1 bathroom, even 4-bedroom houses (although I'd never buy a house with only 1 bath. LOL!)
  3. no in pa.
  4. In the USA, dwellings must have at least one 3/4 bath; more is merely a convenience. 1/2 bath = lavatory + toilet 3/4 bath = lavatory + toilet + shower or tub full bath = lavatory + toilet + shower + tub (a shower and tub may be combined into one unit)
  5. Not here in Ontario...there is only a code dictating how many stalls/employees in businesses here.
