What are unique items to put on my taco?

- Nopales cactus is yummy. You can sometimes find it fresh in stores (but read online about how to prep it, it's a bit tricky) but you can also get it canned at Mexican markets. While you're there, pick up some queso fresco, which is a soft white cheese. Those two make a great taco combination!

- Shrimp?? One of the best tacos I ever had was made from a shrimp salad filling.
- Jicama or Fried Plantains.
- Grilled Spicy Chicken, Crispy Corn Tortilla Chips, Extra Spicy Salsa, Crisp Cold Lettuce, Delcious Tasty Tomatoes, and Creamy Cheese
- Roasted red pepper Grilled mango spears Grated ginger or, Ground peanuts

- chop up water chestnuts and add cilantro. or cold corn with red bell peppers...experiment with different cheeses, beans, etc.
- Wacamole
- olives hot peppers mushrooms
- cucumber sauce / corn / black beans
- Chopped citrus or a squeeze of citrus juice. Crushed pineapple. Don't eeew til you try it. The sweet/sour is really good if the taco is spicy.
- Anchovies or Herring.
- Yak gizzards.
- Chapulines – pan sautéed grasshoppers My friend actually ate this in Houston.
