Baby nursery, Winnie the Pooh theme, looking for creative ideas
so far we've decided to go with red-shirt pooh, rather than the classic pooh and we've decided to use a neutral color scheme, particularly light green but besides buying the "Winnie the Pooh" line of baby items that everyone else has (crib, bedding, mobile, lamp, diaper stacker, etc...) we just don't have many creative ideas to make this nursery our-own (one-of-a-kind) we've talked about getting a stuffed-animal hammock for the corner and using it to hold all the stuffed-animal Winnie the Pooh characters from our childhood (Pooh, Tigger, Piglet, Eeyore, Kanga, Roo, Gopher, Rabbit, Owl, etc...) we've also talked about painting some empty flower pots with the word "hunny" on the side and use them to hold little things like diaper creams and pacifiers, any little knick-knacks that baby needs handy as far as the walls go, we decided to frame finished mosaic style jig-saw puzzles of Pooh and Tigger rather than paint (since we rent) or hang the same old framed posters you see in all the nurseries link to one of the puzzles we are using: http://www.buffalogames.com/products/1000_piece_puzzles/disney_photomosaics/?tx_ttproducts_pi1[backPID]=70&tx_ttproducts_pi1[product]=165&tx_ttproducts_pi1[cat]=8&cHash=01fbc7632f We're really at a loss here, we want this nursery to be fun and playful, something the whole budding family can enjoy...can anyone offer any unique or creative ideas for decor? Specifically any Winnie the Pooh craft ideas, we are crafty people who would very much enjoy making something one-of-a-kind for our baby's room. We'd appreciate links to any sites with ideas as well. Thanks for any shared ideas! PS, to help get the creative juices flowing we've been doing research on Winnie the Pooh's history on these sites: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Winnie_the_Pooh and here's some more specific history to the shows my husband and I enjoyed as children, the shows which we want our to base our nursery off-of: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_New_Adventures_of_Winnie_the_Pooh Thanks again!

- With my son I had a winnie the pooh theme. My best friend took a light wood toy chest and painted a winnie the pooh mural on it, it was adorable, and we still use it.
- Make some stuffed balloons out of fabric and hang them from the ceiling. With Pooh and Piglet hanging from them. Frame famous Pooh quotes and hang them on the wall. Use beehive baskets, little stuffed bees and balloons as sub decor. You can add a Winnie the Pooh mural to the room by painting a scene on an armoire, a dresser or a folding screen. Add some Winnie the Pooh Books to the room. Decoupage pictures of the Characters onto wooden blocks, you can get plain ones at craft stores. Buy a basic lamp and glue some stuffed characters onto the bottom of it. Hang a little yellow rain hat and jacket from a hook on the wall. This would be cute hanging from a shelf with little coat pegs under it. You can probably buy a set at Build a Bear or craft stores. Display the characters throughout the room rather than in one location. Shelves are the best for this. Take a picture of your baby in a Winnie the Pooh outfit and display it in the room. As he/she gets older make a shadow box with the outfit and picture of him/her in the outfit in the shadow box. And use it as decor.
- pickles n ice cream Your Answer: maybe you could paint a large tree (like really big) onto foam board or cardboard (many pieces pieced together) with textured paint (art store), bronzed glitters or even some bark glued onto it and attach it it to the wall so it is removable. It would be kind of 3-d and you could either make a branch or two out of paper mache to match or use real branches somehow and hang winnie the pooh type stuff from the branches, maybe some fake leaves, or a big beehive made out of paper mache with fuzzy bumble bees made out of pipe cleaner or store bought bees coming out of it? Or the leaves could be made out of whatever and you could write things on it... like love, baby, sweet, a nursery rhyme or whatever baby thing you want on each leaf. You could have the pots (of various sizes) cut into halves lengthwise and then glue (heavy duty glue, like 100 % silicone would work great.)a heavy piece of board with a hanger or hole on it and hang them on the wall. The pots will look like they are coming out of the wall. It's not too hard to cut those terra cotta pots...You could put all sorts of stuff in the pots. Or paint each letter of your baby's name on a pot and use that as a central focus piece. Get a couple of large photos of WTP stuff and spray mount them onto foam boards and stick them on the wall for a scene. Or really small ones (photos) spraymounted onto foam core or balsa wood (2 sided) and make a "beaded curtain" or mobile out of them to hang somewhere in the room. Sew or glue gun together a large beehive (cotton fabric and batting- like a big fluffy stuffed animal) or honey pot to hang from ribbon or fake vines from the ceiling and use that as a toy hammock. Get blank shelves from the craft store and paint or decoupage WTP stuff onto the shelves for books, etc. Paint some birdhouses of WTP characters and hang them up all over. I guess that's all I got for now. Good luck and have fun. Check out craftster.org it's a great site, you might find some ideas. Source(s): crafty girl
