Are highly creative people rare?

I know it can be subjective but- I heard someone actually say to me point blank that they are not a creative person. That idea seems foreign to me. I consider myself a creative person- mainly well maybe not great at what I do, but I am a poet, songwriter, i like to make videos for youtube, i like to draw, and I like to design posters, websites, and t-shirts, and I like to act. Anyways, aren't most people creative to least a degree? Or are there some people that simply are not creative at all? That right ironic. I work in retail, lol !

1. Creative people are not rare. Gifted people are and under appreciated. Art and music are no longer a huge part of society. You will find most of your truly artistically gifted people working retail.
2. I think most have something creative about them. It might be unusual, and perhaps some never find their creative outlet. Others may have one but don't consider it creative( like welding car parts into a sculpture) it is, but some just think it's junk. There are some that are highly creative, some that are a little creative, and as the other person said there are the gifted people. There are some that don't even realize how creative or gifted they are. You should use your creativity because I think it grows as you use it more. Also, art and music and all things creative are subjected to the opinions of those that see and hear it. People have many kinds of taste where those things are concerned, that's all they really have , their opinion, or lack of one, it doesn't change the artistic value or measure how creative a person is. Do what you love, create from within you and people will notice and be drawn to it.

What often happens is that we look for validation of our thoughts and ideas from those who we look up to but they are not viewing the world through our eyes. They are not moved by our visions. They have their own issues. It is those few who can keep their own counsel, who are not afraid to be looked at askew, who can step out from the masses and boldly proclaim that the world is indeed oblong. Dare to be the first to sell bread already sliced, to introduce bagpipes into rock music, or to consider the oboe as a serious jazz instrument. Yessir, don't be discouraged. Keep being creative. Most are but, are afraid their ideas will not be accepted by others. Keep it up. Best Wishes .
