Simple / Creative Design?

I'm thinking of painting my room [which is plain white at the moment] I don't want it just a plain color. What would be a simple yet creative and colorful design to use? -Thanks.

1. WHAT? Only white or black are plain colors...Heck, I wasted (so to speak) a lot of money to study color at an expen$ive college and you have nothing to say but the color isn't "plain". Do you have any idea how many colors there are? or even if you decide on a basic color there are still more nuances to how the color is applied? Dang i don't know why i stopped here for such a goofy Q...that is why i will not go back and correct spelling etc errors hope you find ???
2. try stripes! i love stripes.. my room was a pale.. but still nice green and yellow. my niece's room is lavender and baby pink.. and i think it's quite creative. i feel so fresh when i wake up in the morning. it makes me feel soo young and kiddish. lol.. i don't know how you like it though..
3. BLUE AND ORANGE STRIPES they are no wrong color choices, just poor color mistakes
