what color of paint for my wall would go good with this color of carpet http://www.mmmarquees.co.uk/images/carpet-olive-green-290.jpg ps its a little bit lighter than that

1. Approach this from a different angle. Take a carpet swatch - and any other color that will be dominating the space like a couch or drape and find the color that works with both or all items. I just saw a house with yellow walls - they looked fine with the light brown speckled carpet - but like crap with the brown/blue/pink pattern of the kitchen floor.
2. Almost any color will go with your carpet. What color is your furniture? I would try to use a color to bring it all together.
3. If you want a contracting color like cream, beige, white that will give you the options of what you want to decorate your walls with like natural wood colors or you can go with black trims (windows, picture frames...). Or, you can paint one wall with the exact same color and the other three with a lighter color in same hues.
4. play around with the Sherwin Williams color visualizer to find colors that you like. It is the best paint visualizer on the web, imho. I like how their color palette is laid out, I like that you can search by color family & color name, the "painted" rooms look the most realistic, and it suggests coordinating color schemes. You can also take a photo of your house & upload it to the makeover gallery on this website: http://www.roomvues.com/ You can get color suggestions & for $5 they'll photoshop them onto your room so that you can get an idea of what it will look like.
