WHY DO IGNORANT PEOPLE KEEP SAYING THAT THE ONLY REASON WHY BLACK PEOPLE ARE VOTING 4 OBAMA BECAUSE HE'S BLACK?
IM VOTING FOR OBAMA BECAUSE HE STANDS FOR SOMETHING AND HE WILL MAKE A BIG DIFFERENCE IN THIS COUNTRY...... * Barack Obama will reform No Child Left Behind: Obama and Biden believe teachers should not be forced to spend the academic year preparing students to fill in bubbles on standardized tests and he will improve the assessments used to track student progress to measure readiness for college. * Invest in early childhood education: The Obama-Biden comprehensive "Zero to Five" plan will provide critical support to young children and their parents. And they will help states move toward voluntary, universal pre-school. * Make college affordable to all Americans: Obama and Biden will create a new American Opportunity Tax Credit worth $4,000 in exchange for community service. It will cover two-thirds the cost of tuition at the average public college or university and make community college tuition completely free for most students. * Barack Obama will combat employment discrimination: Obama and Biden will work to overturn the Supreme Court's recent ruling that curtails women’s and racial minorities' ability to challenge pay discrimination. They will also pass the Fair Pay Act to ensure that women receive equal pay for equal work and the Employment Non-Discrimination Act to prohibit discrimination based on sexual orientation or gender identity or expression. * Strengthen civil rights enforcement: Obama and Biden will reverse the politicization that has occurred in the Bush Administration's Department of Justice. They will put an end to the ideological litmus tests used to fill positions within the Civil Rights Division. * Expand hate crime statutes: Obama and Biden will strengthen federal hate crimes legislation, expand hate crimes protection by passing the Matthew Shepard Act, and reinvigorate enforcement at the Department of Justice's Criminal Section. # Barack Obama will provide a tax cut for working families: Obama and Biden will restore fairness to the tax code and provide 95 percent of working Americans the tax relief they need. They will create a new "Making Work Pay" tax credit of up to $500 per person, or $1,000 per working family. # Provide tax relief for small businesses and startups: Obama and Biden will eliminate all capital gains taxes on startup and small businesses to encourage innovation and job creation. # Fight for fair trade: Obama and Biden will fight for a trade policy that opens up foreign markets to support good American jobs. They will use trade agreements to spread good labor and environmental standards around the world * Barack Obama will defeat terrorism worldwide: Obama and Biden will find, disrupt, and destroy al Qaeda; prepare the military to meet 21st century threats; and win “the Battle of Ideas” by ensuring American foreign policy is consistent with America's traditional values. * Prevent nuclear terrorism: Obama and Biden will lead the effort to secure nuclear weapons materials at vulnerable sites within four years and help our allies stop the smuggling of weapons of mass destruction. * Strengthen American biosecurity: Obama and Biden will work to prevent bioterror attacks and mitigate consequences by improving U.S. intelligence collection and response management. WE ALSO NEED SOMEONE DIFFERENT AND THAT WOULD MAKE A CHANGE AND THAT'S SOMETHING WE HAVE NOT HAD IN YEARS SO I WANT CHANGE!!!!!!!

- I know I hate that. The reason we are voting for Obama is because my family believes in the democratic ideals and always have. even if the Republican ticket was black, we wouldn't vote for him because he's republican.
- I was just thinking about this topic this morning. Ask those people why some people are voting for Mcain just because he is white. They should give a black man a fair chance as well, it's only a color why should it matter? They may also be paranoid that he will favor the low income blacks(even though they are not the only ones), over everyone else. Any good president would favor the weak over the strong to provide them with assistance, while not favoring any color over another.
- Yeah, I hate that too. If Obama were White and McCain were Black, I'd still vote for Obama. His race (well, races) accounts for nothing. His actions and words do, and that's all I'm concerned about. Oh yeah, I'm Black as well.
- Probably because of his over 90% black support; but, people forget that Democrats generally have over 90% of black support anyway. BTW I am a white Obama supporter.
- Everybody are jus lacking knowledge these days, i vote 4 obama, but im asian, so wats da big deal 4 all those foolish ppl sayin dat?
- I agree with you, many in fact majority of blacks always vote Democrat, and know why they are voting for Obama. That's why i hate these questions on here by Black people who do say "Yeah we need a black man is office" or "Aren't you happy to finally get some flavor in the white house and not another white man?" Questions like that on here is like, have some respect for what Obama stands for not his race.
- I'M VOTIN' FOR OBAMA CUZ HE GONNA GIVE OUT MO WELFARE CHECKS FOR MY WATAMELON AND MALT LIQUOR.
- 9 out of 10 blacks i have talked to, are voting for color.
- I agree with you. We are voting for him because of what he stands for. If we vote for people only because they're black...that would mean that we would vote for Jesse Jackson, Condoleeza Rice, and Marion Berry...and I can tell you that most Blacks wouldn't. Moreover, I'm not going to lie and say that it wouldn't be nice to finally have a Black man in office...because it would, but if he wasn't qualified, Hillary Clinton would of got my vote **I think people are out of line to say that we are voting for Obama because he's Black. Blacks have been voting for a White man every since we were granted the right to vote...so what's the big deal? edit: And by the way, McCain chose Palin to pull women voters...but no one raises hell about that.
- anyone who thinks he is going to make the slightest bit of difference is deluded. no big changes will take place, any tax cuts will further destroy an already erratic economy plunging america into further depression. mark my words, nothing new is coming.
- I totally agree with you. No one says there are white people voting for Mccain b/c hes white(which there are many people). Most people who are voting for Obama are voting for him b/c of his values and what he stands for!
- i know i hate that sh*t they dont realise that Blacks have been 85% Democratic since the 1960's...we woulda voted Obama even if he was white.
- i didn't know that was true. but i have heard that the only reason some are voting for mccain is because he ISN'T black.
- IGNORANCE IS SCARY.
- i just think obama has too many issues that need answering. I don't care what color a man is but i don't think he is the man for the job
- I think that works both ways for both the candidates. I have seen news articles and news clips where some black people say "we need a black man in office", without really knowing anything about the issues, and where some white people say "we don't want a black man in office", even if they know that voting for Mccain would not make much of a difference than what we have now. But those numbers are very small on both sides. I wish it were not true, but that is a reality. To think it doesn't go on is serious denial.
- Army Times research poll seems to suggest blacks are voting for Obama because he is part black. ersonnel; re: the election (in percent): In case you missed this week's issue of the Army Times, here are the results of the Army Times' poll of Military personnel; re: the election (in percent): - Note the racial bias that is said not to exist - McCain Obama Overall 68 23 Army 68 23 Navy 69 24 Air Force 67 24 Marines 75 18 Retirees 72 20 White Non-Hispanic 76 17 Hispanic 63 27 Black/African- American 12 79 Enlisted 67 24 Officers 70 22 =
