Can someone describe what Adobe Creative Suite CS3 design premium does exactly.?
Im a graphic design student, and an upcoming class will be using this program, but the cost! So I was wondering if this program was worth the cost for personal use.

- I am currently in the process of trying to purchase those programs too. Creative suite is very expensive however there is a place where you can get the versions for about $1000.00. It you bought then straight from adobe it would be more than double $1000.00.I'm not sure the exact amount. you can find the programs at a web site called: www.journeyed.com Adobe Creative Suite 3 Design Premium software is the designer's dream toolkit for print, web, and mobile publishing. It combines all-new versions of essential tools for professional page layout, image editing, illustration, and Adobe PDF work flows with new tools for producing engaging websites, interactive experiences, and mobile content--all in a unified, intuitive design environment. Good luck with your graphic design class.
- I don't have a clue....but i'm using cs2 version...i just got it last year. It'll probably take a few years until i update it. But there's a site that sells them for $500.00 or on ebay for less. But if you want it from the official site like adobe, it's going to cost ya a pretty penny.
- I just bought CS3 and it is amazing. You can buy different versions that will have a different number of programs from 3 programs to 12 or more. If you can figure out which programs you will be using exactly you can just buy those programs to cut down on the cost. Also, if you buy a mac, as a student you get a great discount (about $1,300 off of the adobe price) I bought the second biggest package and it has Dreamweaver (web publishing) Illustrator (drawing) Photoshop, In Design (print publishing, like books and magazines) Bridge (viewer) Flash (video) and a few others (stock photos, manager, and whatnot) for $399 I'm in a four year design program and i didn't buy it my first three years, but now in my fourth year i have it and it is nice to have. But i had unlimited access to our computer lab with the programs. I would wait until you are into your program first to see what your professor says to do and what everyone else is doing. Here it is not very common to buy CS3 since we can use it anytime in the lab. Also, by the time you graduate there will be a new edition out, so why don't you wait? It will be worth it later. (although it is fun to have at home) My school has gone through three editions of iMacs and three editions of Adobe since I have been here, and I only bought it because I am doing freelance work at home.
