Are Ikea kitchen components any good?

I really like the way they look, but I am wondering about the quality. Yeah, Ikea is pretty shabby.

1. The quality is poor. Ikea is only good for cheap temporary living like a dorm room. Long term is not a good idea.

3. On the outside it looks sharp but for day to day use its not that great, depending on your budget and your style. Custom cabinetry is not that expensive these days and is a comparable rate but you need to remember your price range. Also depending on the company and how long they have been in Business you will be getting a more Professional design and more one on one time with the designer.
4. My sister in law loves them, but they do not last.
