Why is it against the law to take pictures in so many places in New York like Central Park and restaurants?

Everywhere I went said no cameras allowed or no pictures, even inside a fast food place I went in to use the bathroom also the huge park. WHY??

Well it wasent always like that just since 9/11 ny has been under heavy security you even used to be allowed in the statue of librity but not any more its sad :(
Its like that all over the place. Sometimes its due to privacy issues. Other it could disturb other people. Its easy to get away with though. :) JUST TAKE YOUR PICTURE!
They are paranoid now after what happened with the trade center New is not now what it used to be. I am so sorry for that.
no one pay attention to the BS, just take your pic and don't be a puss
a lot has to do with 9-11 but certain resturantsd and stores don't want pics taken b/c they don't want you stealing their style or harrassing their rich and or celebrity clients.
