how do you feel about personal pictures hung on the walls in the kitchen?
I have a big space on my wall that needs something... I just don't know what. I already have pics on the adjacent wall, so i don't want to overdo it. Any suggestions?

- I just don't really like to see personal pictures hung anywhere. Just a quirk of mine. But it is your house, hang away
- I kind of feel like personal pictures are more for the living room, bedrooms, family room. Do you have a Bed, Bath & Beyond near you? They have lots of nice pictures.
- maybe if you create a collage using pictures that reminf you of fun mermories would be a good idea but never hang lke big pictures all over the space you kno? hope this helpss good luck!!
- How about a mirror or set of mirrors?
- I think it sounds good. Or hang a corkboard, then put pictures on it, with other things like drawings or bills or whatever, so you don't overdo the pictures AND it looks neat and tidy. You could also put border around it.
- its ok everyone does it i would look for some sort of art tho to put there so u dont over do it or even more efficient get a small cabinet u can hang up there who doesnt need more cabinet space u kno
- I don't think family pics or self portraits look good in the kitchen. Try putting up pictures of food or something like that, I did that. Or you could try putting up a shelf with ingridents and stuff on it
- are you religious? if so you could do a cross wall, basically just fill your wall with all diffrent kinds, shapes, colors, and textures of wall cross'. i have one in my hallway and LOVE it. But you dont want it to overdo it on pics, or it will feel like they are closing in on you. i would get a neat shelf(hobby lobby) and hmm, (so hard not knowing your stlyle!) i had a blank wall that took me forever to figure out(in my bedroom) i ended up finding wall words(they are like shelves, but int eh shape of letters) they said, live laugh love, and i put candles, pics, and address book, more candles, some little things from my wedding, and what not on it. just find something you like, and go with it. it drives me insane to have a blank boring wall.. but i generally hold off, until i stumble upon something i really love. then everytime i walk by it, i smile about how much i love it!!! just have patience, until you see what you love.
- You can place artwork because personal pictures should be place in the living area.
- Are you a wine drinker? Have a plexi glass /lucite box frame made to fit the space with a hole in the top cut out. every time you drink a bottle of wine, write the date and place on the cork and throw it into the box. Fun conversation piece to have. You can make your own by puchasing a ready made shadow box frame and drill a hole in the top.
- Kitchens and bathrooms are difficult because the atmosphere is bad for photographs and artwork. Beyond that, I'd go for personal pictures (photos) - or paintings you like, whether original or reproductions (big space, big statement). Just avoid twee commercial crap anywhere at all! We have family photos on the piano and mantlepiece - and masses of paintings (oils mostly) everywhere else, including kitchen and bathroom. But in the last two, we only hang our own, and hang the treasures elsewhere, whoever they are by. We also circulate the paintings to allow the humidity in them to dry out etc.
- The kitchen isn't really a place for family photos. If you are asking, you probably feel that way too. Try finding some art prints that you like. World Market or Michael's usually have good selections. Good luck!
