Creative People Needed/Creative Methods of Teaching?

I just needed help thinking of what to do or how to design a project concerning young children (8-12 yrs old). I have to create a project concerning a topic in medicine that will interest the children while also providing a learning experience. The presentation itself will need to be considerably long as well (something around 10 minutes). I was thinking that maybe I will have a trifold board, some powerpoints, and posters. But, I still need a more "out-of-the-box" teaching method that will interest the school-aged children. I am thinking that the topic of the project will concern general safety and well-being, as well as sanitation and germ-awareness.

1. Have them research and create (draw, cut-out, color) different bacteria and virus types, learning about the different diseases they cause, wrapping the whole thing up with a reinforced lesson on hand-washing and disease prevention. Have them sing a song that's about 1:30 while washing up; it takes that long to kill germs (the alphabet song one and a half times or happy birthday twice), or half of a popular song. Good luck.
