  1. Posters should be very eye catching and have a central focal point, something that draws your eye. Two colors that do that are white and red. You eye automatically is drawn to the brightest spot. Another thing that one could do to make it dramatic is to have pictures that run in a circle toward the center. This , again, draws your eye to the center and out again. Text should be bold and readable with a font that is easily read. The poster itself should be large enough to view from any angle and to read easily. Good Luck with your project, Rick
  2. I've never made a poster but I've done lots of photo shoots. What you need to remember is that your viewer need to be drawn towards the strongest point. I believe a border all round is a waste of time. Perhaps a border around the bottom and one side, the object at a diagonal to the corner and then the message is red. Any help?
  3. never use borders on a poster... boxes are rarely good in design. it's a good idea to mix things up... typography overlapping graphics and such. you need a good headline... and remember text is considered a graphic too. the font you choose is important. you could make it humourous (but add the info required by your class)... http://www.oldies.com/i/boxart/large/41/089218413574.jpg or serious like this one... http://www.my-ecoach.com/online/resources/3657/03-PS51-1.jpg the only thing i don't like about this is the script font. anyway, hope that helps.
