  1. A range and wall oven can be a fantastic option, or a really bad choice. The layout and overall size of the kitchen is the determining factor here. Wall ovens are beneficial because they are easier to reach and access being higher off the floor than the standard ovens, which makes them more desirable. Make sure the range will be properly located and not in a place where people will be prone to accidentally touching it or unthinkingly putting things on it. Enjoy the new kitchen!
  2. Obviously it's okay, since a lot of people do it, for the reasons mentioned above (easier to work with.) It's considered more high-end than having an all-in-one stove/oven unit. But it's also more costly to purchase the wall oven and range separately, and you also have to consider the cabinetry that has to be put in place to support the wall oven. If you are working with a professional and cost is not a huge factor then I would go for it, as long as there is sufficient space in your kitchen to be able to create a sensible layout. We just redid our kitchen completely and did much of it ourselves. I would have liked a wall oven and range but the cost factor and also the fact that we wouldn't have really been able to figure out proper installation on our own is what deterred us. It was just very simple for us to buy new regular stove and pop it in! Also, with the layout of our particular kitchen, there really wasn't a good place to put a wall oven. Good luck with whatever you choose!
