nails and paintmarkers?

I have real nails and I have been reading all kinds of creative things that people do to get designs and such on their nails. I read that some people use white paint markers with a clear coat for their tips (real nail) and I was wondering if this could be a bad idea? If not I want to try it.

1. sounds like a good idea to me. but they have fingernail polish in pens made for that..you can find them at a bunch of stores.
2. i dont like it im a nail manicurist and it is hell to get off and it is messy
