freestanding bath versus ordinary bath in a very small bathroom?

Hi , our bathroom is 5' 6" square and I would like to know which would look best . I have found a good quality freestanding bath which is the same size as a normal bath but I am not sure if it would make the bathroom look (even) smaller . Also which would be best when it comes to selling the house ? We live in a very old cottage , so the style of the freeestanding bath would fit in well . Any advice appreciated , thank you .

1. I've heard freestanding are almost always preferred. Plus, with the style of your home it sounds like it'd be perfect.
