Resume...does what I do on my own count?
I want to get into creative employment, but it has yet to happen. If I don't have much *work experience* to include on a resume that would woo a prospective business, do the things I have done as an individual on my own time count? i.e. I have a pet project in the works, based on my own design, that is to soon be selling an item to raise money for charity. Would that count?

- yes definately
- yes it counts any kinds of unpaid work counts on a resume and actually shows that you are willing to do things that you don't get paid for - gives the go getter appearence to a resume
- Anything that demonstrates competence and skills you can put on your resume you don't need to necessarily get paid for it.
- Sure would. The idea of a resume is to sell "you." You don't want your resume to appear like it's describing a part number. The objective of a resume is to get you in the door for an interview. It must be "sales" oriented. Not PUFF or falsehoods, but accomplishment oriented. Sounds like you've got one...perhaps more. "developed a system for charity that increased giving by xxx%. "directed a project that reduced something (???) by 5%. The prevailing thought is...if this person can do that...maybe they can do it for me. Good luck! Knock 'em dead!
