There are standards about it. we can count some of them as follows the fixtures,cables( insulation and current carrying capacity) supports for fixation,socket outlet and switches.All must be standard and must be selected according to safety regulations.Of course the installation is very important too.The design must be according to illumination needs.For theaters,meeting rooms,conference halls,hospitals,schools have special design criterias.
