Can a man abrogate or add any law of Allah?
Narrated Zaid bin Thabit: Allah's Apostle made a small room (with a palm leaf mat). Allah's Apostle came out (of his house) and prayed in it. Some men came and joined him in his prayer. Then again the next night they came for the prayer, but Allah's Apostle delayed and did not come out to them. So they raised their voices and knocked the door with small stones (to draw his attention). He came out to them in a state of ANGER, saying, "You are still insisting (on your deed, i.e. Tarawih prayer in the mosque) that I thought that this prayer (Tarawih) might become obligatory on you. So you people, offer this prayer at your homes, for the best prayer of a person is the one which he offers at home, except the compulsory (congregational) prayer." Sahih Bukhari, Volume 8, Book 73, Number 134 Narrated Abu Huraira: So, 'Umar said, 'in my opinion I would better collect these (people) under the leadership of one Qari (Reciter) (i.e. let them pray in congregation!)'. So, he made up his mind to congregate them behind Ubai bin Ka'b. Then on another night I went again in his company and the people were praying behind their reciter. On that, 'Umar remarked, 'what an excellent Bid'a (i.e. innovation in religion) this is; but the prayer which they do not perform, but sleep at its time is better than the one they are offering.' He meant the prayer in the last part of the night(Tahajjut). (In those days) people used to pray in the early part of the night." Sahih Bukhari, Volume 3, Book 32, Number 227

- umm a little to long to read. :D
- Al-Hadith:"Whoso interprets the Quran according to his opinion, let him seek his abode in the Fire." And in a narration:"Whoso interprets the Quran without Knowledge, let him seek his abode in the Fire."(Tirmizi) Must be highly qualified to interpret Quran,Hadiths,Islamic law,ect... >Thorough knowledge of Arabic.(Alim in Arabic language) >Knowledge of Ilme-Ma'aani (knowledge of Rhetoric) >Knowledge which is 'Mubham' - ambiguous -;ability to elaborate which is 'Mujmal' - brief or abridged (thorouph knowledge of Ahadith. >Knowledge of Sababi-Nuzool (reason for revelation of Ayat) >Knowledge of Naasikh and Mansookh (Abrogation) >A very sound knowledge of Ahadith. >Knowledge of Usoole Fiqh (principles of Islamic Jurisprudence) >Knowledge of Ilme-Kalaam (Islamic Scholastics) >Knowledge of Ilme-Qiraat. >Takwa. Besides the above factors other requirements are also necessary!
- No ofcourse not! It's a sin!! An unforgettable Sin!
- a man can do any thing what he choose to do,just as you are following hadith, and you are convinced that punishment of adultery is Rajam, and you whisper when you do Salat, and every thing which is according to hadith and NOT Glorious Quran.. havent ou transgrssed Allah's Law and Commands ? you say Ya Muhammed, which again is against what Allah Allmighty has told us in Glorious Quran. you have already abrogated my dear.
- Muhammad (sa) brought the Perfect and Final Law, and it cannot be changed and will not be changed. This is a promise of Allah in the Holy Qu'ran. By the Grace of Allah, this promise has been fulfilled and will continue to be fulfilled as the Holy Qur'an is in the exact form as when it was revealed by Allah 1400 years ago.
- No of course not, because if you change or add anything to the word of Allah, then it is no longer the word of Allah! Just as if you "adjust/ add/ change" a word of Islam to fit your needs, then it will no longer be Islam...!
- Hazrat Umar's act is not adding or abrogating Allah's law at all. He doesn't make it fardh (obligation) or haram. If he did that, that will be abrogation or addition in law of Allah. What he did is to collect scattered praying peoples and make a jamat. Umar's act is not law. Prophet's act can be a consider a law automatically, if prophet do it continuously. I think you understand what I want to say. If no, plz email me I will tell you in urdu (if you knows). Their is another reason behind that, He want to produce more Huffaz and to test them. As you know every ramadan, millions of muslim huffaz recite quran and a person is listening behind him that he is recite right or wrong.
- as narrated by authentic hadith compilations acording to ale sunnah wal jamaat eg sahih bukhari offering of taraweeh prayers in jamaat was not practised by the holy prophat sws infact he forbid people from offering it in jamaat as narrated by bukhari in his"sahih" now if omari decides that taraweeh shud be prayed in jamaat ,those who follow omari will accept it ,but those who follow what the prophat sws will hold fast to the prophats sunnah and not change it,.NOW WHO HAS CHANGED THE SUNNAH OF THE HOLY PROPHAT?
- Number of times it happened, what Sayyidina Umer Bin Khatab (radhi Allahu taala anhu) said or expressed his wish, it was immediately revealed by Allah swt. as a holy verse of Quran, and it never happened for Ali. If Muhammad pbuh had accepted the suggestion of Umer r.a.a to kill Abu-Sufiyan when he was captured by suhaba before Fatah Makkah, mis hap of Karbala would not had happened. (Allah swt. knows better)
