- January, 1986...Germany... in a few days a guy by the name of Karl Benz will patent the automobile, at which time his wife promptly arranges the first 'road-trip'(about 65 miles away) Karl wakes up one morning...dude(in German)...ver iz mine autombile? But seriously, the concept from the get-go of this company was and still is to be the most advanced cars on the planet. Want to see what will be standard fare on cars 10-15 years from now?...look at the S-class today...
