What color walls go best with light-colored marble floors?
I just bought a house with light-colored marble floors. It has an open design with living room, dining room and kitchen all on the first floor. There is plenty of natural light, as there are floor to ceiling windows on one side of the living room. We wish to repaint the walls, and are thinking of a faux sandstone finish, but have no idea what colors to use. Advice, please!

- i like chocolate brown walls...it makes everything look classic.
- if there is beige in your marble floors, a light beige wall w/ white moulding looks good!
- Light Pastel Medeteranian Blue (Don't Go with anything on the yellow side.)
- It sounds like you are on the right track. I would pick up one of the colors in the marble floor. Lighter shades are much better for walls, in my opinion.
- I love 2 paint how about we paint it tan with a off color white trim...PeAcE
- It really depends on the paint shades available in your neck of the woods... also to take in consideration: which areas of your house get morning or afternoon sunlight the colours of your furnishings tropical or northern climate how long you plan to keep the same colour scheme.... if I were you, I'd steer clear of the fashions of the moment - go with a basic magnolia shade and white trim, as it always looks good. Light coloured marble floors sound really nice, perhaps you could pick one of its shades, but steer clear of grays as they could make the rooms loof cold and uninviting - even in a minimalistic decor. And definitely, no blues or greens!
- In my opinion, the best coloured walls to go with light-coloured marble floors are as follows:- 1. For the living - use pastel light-purple (orchid colour type) 2. For the dining - use pastel light-rosy (rose colour type) 3. For the kitchen - use pastel light sandy (beach sand type) The above colours will definitely match the marble floors anytime, because these colours give ambience, a soothing and calm feeling. I hope you like it. Happy painting!
- Your natural colors are nuetrals...you can choose any color you want. Don't be afraid of color. If you choose all tans and earthtones it can get quite boring. You didn't say what color your adjoining rooms are. That would have helped. Are you going for a certain feel? Are you going to be selling your home soon? Need more info.
- pick one of the colors from the marble .
