what is the best kind of backsplash to put in a kitchen?

what color and design for the backsplash would go with an apple themed kitchen? the wall color will be a light yellow. countertops is a corion material. color not determined yet. flooring will be duraceramic...color not determined yet. also, cabinets will be mission style.

3. Stainless steel is easy to clean and goes with anything.

5. tile, you can match the wall color and even stamp, or decal apples on the tile
6. When my hubby and I redid our kitchen, we bought sheets of Formica and glued it to the wall behind the stove and the entire counter. It wipes off really well and looks great. As far as what color, I don't have a clue.
