Kitchen design - colour scheme?
Trying my best to design a new kitchen for our family home, so far: We have white appliances and have chosen white cabinets with beech doors, walls are tiled white from floor to above worktop, we would like either pale green, light sand or light beige for the top half of the walls. Question is, what colour floor and worktops do you think would look best? Thanks

- light beige
- Dark granite worktops, And a black tiled floor with very large tiles. That will be the perfect contrast XDXD
- Suggest a counter in white or cream, with beige, brown, gray and black in it. That will go with all your colors, and whatever you want to add. Floor - suggest a cream and beige pattern that resembles marble.
- lime green and even limer green...
- a floor and counter top are always supposed to have the same color in them. you could do a black granite (http://www.wpmonumental.com/images/granite/impala_black.jpg) with a black (http://img.alibaba.com/photo/201204491/ceramic_tile_laminate_flooring.jpg) or beige floor (http://www.floormania.com/laminate/images/M7621beige.jpg) and just a tip... i know you said "pale green, light sand or light beige for the top half of the walls" but red is a GREAT color for kitchens. it actually makes you hungry and if you really want to spice it up, i would use red (with the black granite top and the black or beige floor).
- Eeek! stay away from green in the kitchen! I don't know why, but it looks awful to me! Beige with character, darker on one wall looks good. Virtually anything will go with it, just don't get too many color schemes going. Even if you don't plan to sell to some extent always have to look at buyers perspective when the BIG $$$ is at stake. Keep floor simple(color neutral ), go wild on walls.. it is easy to repaint for $20
- Depends very much how much natural light you get in your kitchen and whether you want contrasting or complementary colours. If you have good natural light go for contrasting, if the kitchen is quite dark then complementary. If it is a light kitchen then Personally if you are going for pale green walls I would recommend Emerald Granite worktops with an Amtico Verde Stone floor. (If you are going that road make sure you have samples of both worktop and flooring before you choose your shade of green) If it is a dark kitchen go for your walls in light sand or beige. A solid beech worktop would be stunning, just remember you have to oil it regularly, and it will darken slowly over time. If you have a Wood worktop then you want to use a much lighter flooring such as Dove grey Marmoleum or perhaps even the white marble. If you change the appliances to silver finish you can get a stunning brushed aluminium look flooring. It looks amazing with Beech.
- if you go to the big stores diy web sites they usually have a kitchen planner on there site use this to plan your kitchen and print it off to give you a better idea of what you want i think b&q has one
- Worktops black granite. Floor, beech colour..do not ever have a black floor nor a white one..it looks fantastic in magazines but..it's a family home..everything will show dust on black, hairs on white. I like the idea of Green on the walls don't go limey though.
