When you were a kid and got to design your own costume, what was your favorite Halloween get-up?

We dressed up like the robot on "Lost In Space" ... used all the aluminum foil we could find. I was 6 and my brother was 7 ... car lights reflected off us as we went house to house ... but it was extremely warm and the costumes were near tatters by the time we got back home.

  1. Wrap myself in tinfoil & go as leftovers.
  2. One Halloween, I made a Cookie Monster costume for my youngest son. (Really nifty, if I say so myself!) Parade in our home town, and the kids (and parents) gathered after the parade for hot dogs and cider. Gent carrying his small daughter paused nearby. My son opened the Cookie Monster mouth and smiled at the little girl. She, in turn, yelled to her father..."Oh, look, look, da Cookie monster eated dat little boy!" My costumes, of a much earlier era, were not as fun.
  3. That is a neat idea!! I went with the gypsy costume. It was so much fun to wear the make up and jewelry that a little girl wasn't allowed to wear, except for play.
  4. HA-HA That sounds like something Ed Norton or Ralph Kramden did once but I think they called it Captain Video Ranger . I always wanted to dress as a princess..or a cowgirl .
  5. My favorite costume would have to be something really warm with lots of layers, Halloween was often very cold here. Usually just had a mask and a snowsuit.
  6. Hobo
