i need help designing an experiment for photosynthesis?

Design and briefly describe a controlled experiment that would compare photosynthetic rates of plants grown in UV light and plants grown in incandescent light. I know that my hypothesis would be: Plants grown in incandescent light will have higher photosynthetic rates than those grown in UV light. I guess I just need help getting started. I don't know how you measure photosynthetic rate. Thanks!

  2. two boxes one is open to uv light one is shut only to incandesent light work out the times of exposure turn the false light off oh you do the math's
  3. look the subject up on Yahoo search and read up on it!
  4. It's kinda hard to measure photosynthesis directly, you need a special instrument that costs a lot of money.... It measures CO2 intake and O2 and H2O release... Pretty dang complicated.. This is a company that makes a line of them... http://www.licor.com/env/Products/li6400/6400.jsp I'm not sure how advanced you are as far as photosynthesis and measuring, but you can measure gas production, and CO2 production if you have a sensor or something... It's a challenging thing! This website has a lot of good ideas... http://www.newton.dep.anl.gov/askasci/bot00/bot00797.htm Good luck!
