1. If i was to write about that i would chat about, how to position your house (which way to face it) to maxamise the outside weather, sun in winter, shade in summer. Natural light, where windows should be situated. Use the environments conditions to maximise the potential of your house
2. How funny you should ask, I am a secretary in an architectural/engineering office. The hot new topic these days is Green building or creating a sustainable environmentally responsible design. I've added a link to start you off, but you can put Green Building into any search engine and get several really good sites.
3. I would write on the changes in structure and design over the years, cause and effect. NAtural disasters, environmental, political and societal situations that caused changes in construction and the development of engineering.
