what should be the percentage of magic find in diablo 2 lod, to maximize unique item drops?

1. It depends, you can increase the % by adding runes and the like to your equipment.
2. as high as possible the higher your magic find is, the more magic items you will receive...the unique magic and rare magic items are given at random, so the more magic items you find, the better of a chance you will stumble across a unique magic item. and...while I can talk to someone about such an old but awesome game...why in the world would they give you the option to buy a tome of identify when you can fly back to town with a portal and talk to decard cain (non-online)? it's not like he's optional to rescue, and it's not like he's ever absent after you rescue him. you go without him for such a short period of time - but nonetheless, that game gives you a lot of useless things.
