unique baby shower gift??
I am going to the baby shower of an "aquaintance" whom i am not super friends with. I want to get her something that that everyone else isnt going to get her also...any ideas? there are going to be about 30 people there and it is a surprise so there isnt a registry. I have heard great ideas like filling a baby bathtub with stuff...but i am sure that I wont be the only one with that idea or the only one to get her a basic item like a baby bath. i dont have a baby so i dont know. What are some things that she could get a million of and it would be ok? i need ideas

- Get a baby food cookbook, i recommend "Feed Me I'm Yours' my wife orders this book by the dozen to give casual friends as a gift and it is always a hit!
- get a bank that when teeth fall out, there is a place on the bank for all of them
- Onsies! I went through onsies like mad with my kids. That and burp cloths, but I bet she'll get a lot of those.
- a nursing bracelet is a unique idea and you can find some really pretty ones if you surf around. There is an example in the link below.
- u can never ahve enough diapers and wipes and baby washclothes no one thinks of those or a travel set of baby equipmetn u can buy at walmart for like 2 or 3 bucks never enough onesies got to www.americanbaby.com and u can see a list of stuff u need in the beginning find something u think is unique on it good luck
- I was in the same situation once - didn't want to get her the same thing as everyone else. So I actually decided to get HER something. I figured everyone was putting their efforts into getting something for the BABY, but she also would be in need of some things - like relaxation! :) So, I made a gift basket with bubble bath, lotion, foot soak, slippers, etc. I told her that I knew she would be busy and worn out for awhile after her baby was born, so she should use these things to give HERSELF a little time off and relax. She really liked it a lot!
- Have you thought of the diaper cake it looks like a cake but is made out of diapers. You can get the plans on how to make one at www.babyshowercakes.com these are super cute!! And a hit with the mom to be!!
- a book on baby's stages..all milestones...There are plenty in market,,,or better still a CD with nursery rhymes that would come handy to her once the kid is born..
- Diapers are a good thing to have a million of! Actually, that was all I wanted because they get expensive. You could get her one of those really cute cloth lined wicker laundry baskets, and get her a pack of size 2 and 3 diapers. (everyone is going to be getting her size 1! I just had my shower last week) Something else not everyone gets is a handprinting kid, or a really nice picture frame that says "daddy and me" or "Mommy and me" etc, and then a cute outfit. Sounds about complete to me!
- Quite frankly, it sounds like you're going to this shower "for show," not to help the mother-to-be. The idea is not for you to shine, but to help the parent(s) acquire the things they need to start raising their child. Get the mother something USEFUL, and quit worrying about being the star of the show. Get baby clothing if you don't know what else to get, or LOTS of disposable diapers; you can also get a gift certificate for them. If you get clothing, get things that are six-month size; everybody gets cute little things for newborns, and what the mom needs are things she can use for her baby six months or a year from now.
- How about a receiving blanket full of baby t-shirts, booties or socks, baby powder, lotion, shampoo, bibs, and baby wipes? You can tie the four corners of the blanket togeather and use it as the packaging.
- The best gift I got at my baby shower was a cift certificate for a pedicure and a massage... Getting something for the mother beats out getting something for the mother for the baby. I wouldn't worry too much about getting the baby stuff - if there are already going to be 30 other people there. Good luck!
- I would get her something for her and the baby. dont focus it all on the baby and dont focus it on the new mommy....Dont be too picky either.
- I had my babyshower 2 weeks ago and THE best gift I gotten out of 100people was my moms friend HAND knitted (crochet? something like that) a blanket, a little hat and a sweater it was all white and she put little dragon flies on it.. it was official! Another gift is good you can give her a BELLY CASTING KIT. Google it! it cost about $30 online.. I would love that!.umm.. a photo album for the baby @ 1months 2months 3months.. so on.GO FOR THE BELLY CASTING!! thats unique.
- The one gift that is almost guaranteed not to be repeated is a custom diaper cake!! I make these and if you make it personalized with embroidered onesies or bibs to display on the cake......it is sure to be a HUGE HIT!!! Sure to be the cutest and most memorable gift at the shower. If you aren't familiar with diaper cakes....they are tiered cakes made out of diapers and useful items for baby and the new family. I am going to put a link to my website below, if you bounce around on the site you will see MANY examples of diaper cakes (I have TWO different styles of cakes "Blankets as Icing" and "Diapers as Icing") I ship anywhere, too....so if you like what you see I would love to create this DISTINCTIVE and MEMORABLE gift just for this baby you are celebrating!!
- Have you thought about either pre cooked meals for her and her husband once the baby arrives? How about a gift certificate for a pedicure or 30 minute massage. Many people forget to think about Mom and focus on baby, which is fine, however mom would really appreciate a pampering I'm sure. Diaper's, wipes, bottles, onsies, sleepwear.........all that kind of stuff never becomes too much. Try to steer clear of baby outfits, I seemed like that's all everyone got me and I didn't have anything else. If you do get an outfit for the baby, get something in the 6 month and older range so she has something for later on.................babies grow so fast, but remember to think ahead of what the weather may be 6 months down the road. Good Luck! Remember: Anything you do decide to get, she'll love.
- I think a diaper cake is perfect for this type of situation. When there is no registry, and you don't have a baby yourself (so you're unfamiliar with baby stuff.) You can't go wrong when you give diapers - every new mom needs them and you can never have too many at a baby shower. The problem is that it's no fun to give a pack of Pampers, right? Well, a diaper cake makes giving diapers a lot of fun. And it's extra perfect for you, since you want to give her a gift that will stand out from the others. A year from now, she won't remember who gave her onesies or washcloths. But she will definitely remember the diaper cake for years to come. I vote diaper cake for sure! Enjoy the baby shower!
- gift card
- Get her an iMemoryBook baby memory book. You can call iMemoryBook and buy a gift certificate for her to create her own personalized baby memory book.
