What should i study ?

Ok. well im thinking about going to college and then to university to pursue a career in something.. The thing is i dont really know what im good at.. I true to do the best in everything... What jobs and careers are needed in the world today ? Which offer quick progression and a good pay check. I am quite imaginative and creative and like to design posters and slides.. All my past jobs have been working in retail shops but i never really wanted to go down that path. I would like the possibility to travel in my career.. Not in the travel industry but just a career not stuck in an office... I live in Scotland... Its all free here.. If you are classed as being ordinarily resident in Scotland or another European Union (EU) country outside the UK, and are going to be studying full-time in Scotland, you will not be required to pay tuition fees. All tuition fees will be paid on your behalf by the Scottish Executive through the Student Awards Agency for Scotland (SAAS). Students must apply for this funding on a yearly basis.

  1. You should take a career assesment test.
  2. Maybe you should go into marketing. I know art skills and creativity are important there for designing ads and commercials
  3. IT will probably get you the most money in the shortest time, but working with every other idiot trying to make a buck isn't for everyone. IT is the new gravy train and you meet hardened capitalists in that game, depression can quickly follow. You also should bear in mind the rules on degrees are changing and in future if you try to do a second Bachelors you will have to pay the full price that a non European would have to pay. Best to choose the right degree first time and save yourself around 9k a year tuition fees. Theres always doing a phd that can land you a research post at a university and send you all over the world. Good luck with your one life.
  4. The jobs and careers that are needed in the world today will depend on which part of the world you're in... If for example you are in the MidEast, now that there's construction and reconstruction boom in this part of the world, it will be really rewarding to be an Architect or Engineer or an Autocadd Draftsman and those professions in the same industry.. but personally i think Accountants and Auditors will always have a place in the career zone anywhere in the world now and still in the coming years.. but since you said you're quite imaginative and creative..my best bet for you will be to go for graphic designing then later on to Advertising.. but yeah career-assessment will be in order too.. goodluck..cheers
